Detached and set in a walled 500 m² garden with a private pool, it takes 8 adults and 2 children across 4 bedrooms, and everything that matters is a walk or a bike ride away. Ideal for a family holiday in the heart of Arcachon Bay.

The story of the house
This house came to us from Renée, our great-aunt, to whom the whole family was deeply attached. Fully renovated since, it has kept its soul as a family home, and we wanted it to go on hosting happy summers.

The living space
One large open room holds the sitting area (corner sofa, television, fireplace) and an open kitchen whose island seats five on bar stools. There is even a piano.

The kitchen
Equipped for actual cooking: stainless-steel oven, microwave, dishwasher, hob, food processor, blender, two coffee makers (espresso and filter), kettle, toaster, wine glasses and every utensil you'd reach for.

The veranda
A veranda extends the house with a table for ten and a second television: this is the dining room when it rains, and the card table in the evening.

The bedrooms
Four bedrooms and seven beds: a main bedroom with a double and its own en-suite (bath and WC), a large room with a king-size and a single, a large room with a double and bunk beds, and a fourth room with a double. That makes 10 sleeping spots to arrange as you like, ideal for 4 couples with its four double beds; the capacity stays at 8 adults and 2 children under 10 maximum. The living areas are air-conditioned.

The pool and the terrace
Outside, a wide terrace opens onto the pool, with a barbecue and a dining area under the pergola. Facing the water: a garden lounge under a large parasol, sun loungers and a hammock. The garden is fully fenced: children can play in it without being watched every second.

Before you come
What we'd rather tell you now
- The pool is above ground, unheated and unsupervised: children swimming remain the parents' responsibility. It is open in high season only, from 1 July to 31 August; the rest of the year it is not available.
- The house is single-storey, but three steps lead up to the kitchen, the sitting room and three of the bedrooms.
- No smoking indoors; smoking outside is fine.
- There is no electric-vehicle charging at the house. Several public chargers are less than a 10-minute walk away (Aldi, Carrefour, town centre).
- No tumble dryer, but there is a washing machine and an airer.
